Spectrum Pulse is the brainchild of Tricia Jones who, believe it or not, began her guitarist career playing in several 80's and 90's death and heavy speed metal bands. However, Tricia always had a love for all kinds of music, not just the heavy stuff. So after doing the heavy metal thing for a time, she left that scene to expend into different genres and styles of music. This is where Spectrum Pulse was born.
Spectrum Pulse a genre-defying collective that fuses the intricate soundscapes of progressive rock with the infectious melodies of modern pop. With a focus on complex arrangements, soaring harmonies, and emotionally charged lyrics, the band crafts music that invites listeners on an immersive journey of both musical experimentation and catchy, accessible tunes.
The sound is a seamless blend of creative guitars, lush keys, dynamic rhythms, and melodic vocals, drawing influences from classic prog acts like Pink Floyd, Yes, (old) Genesis, to artsy acts like David Bowie, and ELO, while infusing the energy and hooks of contemporary pop icons.
From expansive, otherworldly sound explorations to intimate, pop-driven tunes, Spectrum Pulse delivers a listening experience that is both innovative and memorable. Each track is a testament to Spectrum Pulse's passion for pushing the boundaries of genre, creating a unique space where progressive rock and pop collide in perfect harmony.
Early in their musical journey while seeking a recording contract, producers had an interest but often sought to harness sex appeal as a selling point - placing Tricia at the forefront and nudging the band toward glossy, radio-friendly pop. But the group resisted. Tricia, along with her bandmates, stood firm in their creative vision, refusing to dilute their sound for mass appeal.
Eventually, the original members of Spectrum Pulse as a band decided to part ways and pursue different projects and life ventures. As the band founder, it was agreed that Tricia would retain control of the Spectrum Pulse name with different members.
Throughout the years, the line up of the Spectrum Pulse band may have changed. But one thing remains consistent - Tricia Jones remains active with various musicians on an array of musical projects under the musical project name Spectrum Pulse.
In short - the band that was formally know as Spectrum Pulse. has now morphed in Tricia's personal recording project with different musicians occasionally performing live together as a full band when they have the desire to do so.
Or even shorter: Spectrum Pulse is now a world.
