Specimoly does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal or user data. Everything the extension does happens locally, inside your own browser. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no remote servers.
When you open the Specimoly popup on a web page, the extension reads that page's styles and assets (colors, fonts, spacing, shadows, gradients, images, icons, and similar) so it can show you the page's design tokens. This reading happens only on the tab you are actively viewing, only when you open the popup, and the results stay on your device. Specimoly never sends the page content, or anything derived from it, to us or to any third party.
Specimoly uses your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) only to remember:
your theme preference (light or dark), and
any colors you save with the eyedropper.
This information is stored locally on your computer, is never synced or uploaded, and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.
When you export design tokens (CSS, SCSS, Tailwind, JSON, or Figma) or download assets, those files are saved directly to your computer by your own action. Specimoly does not upload them anywhere.
activeTab / scripting: used to read the styles of the current tab, only when you open the popup, so the extension can extract its design tokens. No page is accessed in the background.
storage: used to save your theme preference and picked colors locally, as described above.
downloads: used to save the files you choose to export or download.
Specimoly requests no broad host permissions and does not run on pages you have not activated it on.
None. Specimoly does not share, sell, or transfer any data to third parties, because it does not collect any.
Specimoly operates independently and does not communicate with any third-party APIs or servers. It has no backend of its own and contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, or external service integrations.
Specimoly does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
