Volunteer Classifications:
Special Olympics Pennsylvania has two different classifications of volunteers. They are:
Class A – A Class A volunteer is someone who is or may be in immediate contact with athletes. Class A volunteers are required to have background checks completed before assuming their role. Class A volunteers will also be required to complete trainings.

Class B – A Class B volunteer is someone with casual or limited contact with athletes, such as Event Volunteers.

Consider Unified Sports
Special Olympics Unified Sports® creates an opportunity for people without intellectual disabilities to join in the sports experience by playing on a team with athletes with intellectual disabilities. NEW VOLUNTEERS:
For individuals interested in becoming a Class A or Class B volunteer (Event Volunteer).
For Class B volunteer (Event Volunteer) who has already completed the New Volunteer Registration. On the Online Volunteer Portal you will be able to find and sign up for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
CURRENT VOLUNTEERS:
For currently registered Class A volunteers that need background checks (18 years or older only).
