I believe that the leaders in our Community should do their best to represent the interests of the community as a whole and not their personal interests. It bothered me with what had been going on with North Idaho College, as well as the current issues in the Kootenai County Assessor's office that are disenfranchising the rank and file Republicans that make up our great party. I felt that I could no longer stand by and watch this happen, so I decided to run for Precinct Committeman to bring some common sense and credibility back to the process. I was able to win election in 2024 and have tried to make the committee more transparent in its actions ever since. Last election did not yield enough of a majority to make the needed change, but only 4 votes in the committee made the difference.
Platform
Increase participation in decision making at the KCRCC level. Currently the KCRCC is only being steered by a small group of people that don't represent the Republican community as a whole.
I want to represent your voice. To that end, I invite you to contact me at (208) 755-6933 or spechtfor321@gmail.com I welcome any and all input since this community belongs to all of us and different perspectives are always valuable.
Issues
Voter Turnout/Participation
I would like to see more people turn out to vote, and the best way to do this is to make people feel that they are being heard. This isn't currently happening, which is why voter turnout has been so low in recent elections.
Ineffective Leadership
Current issues have stemmed from poor policy, which has resulted in a great amount of dysfunction and hampered the performance of several local bodies, and resulted in potential litigation and wasteful spending, as well as errors. What is currently going on with the Assessor's Office is an excellent example of this.
I sincerely hope that you agree that representing the broader community instead of following the radical agendas of people who don't represent traditional Republican values is in all of our best interests going forward.
