Speazy Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mobile application Speazy: AI Language Learning (the "App"), published on Google Play under the package name com.speazy.ailanguage.learning.speak.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The App does not require an account. You do not register, log in, or give us your email address to use it. Your lessons, progress, streaks, gems and practice history are stored on your device.
a. Voice and Audio
The App asks for microphone access (RECORD_AUDIO) so that you can practise speaking. The permission is requested only when you first tap a microphone button, and the microphone is only on while you are using a voice feature — never in the background.
Your speech is converted into text by your device's speech recognition service (for example Google's speech services on Android), so the App can check what you said.
The App does not record, store or upload audio. We never receive your voice recordings.
Only the resulting text is used by the App, as described below.
b. Text You Send to the AI Tutor
When you use an AI feature (asking the AI tutor, AI conversations and calls, stories, explanations, the speaking challenge, conversation reports), the text needed for that feature — for example your message, the recent turns of the conversation, the language you are learning, the app language and your level — is sent to our AI server, which forwards it to our AI provider, Google (Gemini), to generate the response.
Our AI server does not store your conversations. It passes the request to Google and returns the answer. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) keeps short-lived technical logs such as time, status and IP address for security and abuse prevention.
Your conversation history is saved only on your device and is deleted when you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
c. Tutor Memory
To make practice more personal, the App may remember a first name you give it and a few short facts you share in conversations (for example your job or a hobby). This memory is stored on your device and is included in AI requests so the tutor can refer to it. You can view, clear or turn off the tutor memory at any time in the App's settings.
d. Photos and Translation
The "Translate & learn" and photo features let you take a picture with your camera app or choose an image from your gallery. Text in the image is recognized on your device (Google ML Kit); the image itself is never uploaded to us. Translations use on-device language models where available. If you ask for an AI explanation of a translation, only the text is sent to our AI server as described in section 1b.
e. Reported AI Content
You can report an AI response from the "⋯" menu. When you do, we receive only the reported AI response, the reason you chose, the feature it came from and the language codes — nothing that identifies you. Reports are kept in our server logs for up to 30 days, only to review AI safety and quality.
f. Support Enquiries
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to reply to you.
g. Automatically Collected Information
Device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID (GAID), a Firebase installation ID and a push-notification token
Device model, operating system version, system language, country and mobile network information
IP address, timestamps and network connectivity status
How you arrived at the App (install source, for example an advertising campaign)
App usage events, for example completed lessons, features opened, ads viewed and in-app gems earned or spent
Information about the ads shown to you and your interactions with them (for example impressions and clicks), used to serve, measure and pay for advertising
Crash reports and performance diagnostics
We do not ask for your full name, phone number, postal address, contacts or location.
We use the information above to provide the App's lessons, speaking practice and AI features; personalise AI responses; send the daily study reminders you allow; run in-app gems and rewarded features; show advertising and measure its performance; understand which advertising campaigns bring new learners; review reported AI content; diagnose crashes and improve stability; prevent fraud and abuse; respond to support enquiries; and comply with legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
Consent — microphone access, notifications, and personalised advertising and related measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before.
Performance of a contract — the processing needed to deliver the features you use, such as AI responses.
Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, review of reported content, measuring and improving the App.
Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by law.
We work with the following providers. Each processes information under its own privacy policy:
Google (Gemini API / Vertex AI) — generates AI tutor responses from the text you send. https://policies.google.com/privacy
Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts our AI server and protects it from abuse. https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
Google AdMob (Google LLC) — serves advertising in the App (interstitial, rewarded video, native, banner and app open ads), runs the ad mediation described below and may use your advertising ID. https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Google User Messaging Platform — collects advertising consent and privacy choices where required by law.
Firebase (Google LLC) — Google Analytics for Firebase, Crashlytics, Remote Config and Cloud Messaging, for usage statistics, crash diagnosis, app configuration and notifications. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google ML Kit — on-device text recognition, language identification and translation. https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/terms
Tenjin, Inc. — mobile measurement: install attribution, in-app events and advertising revenue analytics. https://www.tenjin.com/privacy/
Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and Google Ads — receive install and in-app event information (for example a completed lesson) through Tenjin or Firebase, together with your advertising ID, so that we can measure and improve our advertising campaigns. https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
Google Play services — app updates, in-app review and platform functionality. https://policies.google.com/privacy
Advertising partners (ad mediation)
The App uses Google AdMob mediation. When an ad is requested, the following ad networks may take part in the auction and, if they win, show the ad. To do so they may receive device and advertising data — such as the Advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system version, app information and ad interaction data — subject to your consent where required by law:
Meta Audience Network (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
Pangle (Bytedance Pte. Ltd.) — https://www.pangleglobal.com/privacy/enduser-en
Liftoff Monetize (Liftoff Mobile, Inc., formerly Vungle) — https://liftoff.io/privacy-policy/
Unity Ads (Unity Technologies) — https://unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing your advertising ID and related data with advertising partners for personalised advertising may be considered "selling" or "sharing" under some US state privacy laws; you can opt out at any time as described below.
Advertising choices
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform is shown before personalised advertising is used. In US states with privacy laws, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for targeted advertising. You can change your choices at any time in the App under Profile → Settings → Ad privacy choices.
You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID at any time in your device settings (for example Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
The App uses generative artificial intelligence to hold practice conversations, answer questions about the language you are learning, write short stories and give feedback on your speaking and writing.
AI responses are intended only for educational and language-practice purposes. They may be inaccurate and must not be relied upon as legal, immigration, medical or financial advice.
We give the AI instructions to keep responses on the topic of language learning, and you can report any inappropriate AI response from the "⋯" menu next to it (see section 1e).
The text sent to our AI provider is used to generate your responses. We do not use it to build an advertising profile of you or to identify you.
The App is free and supported by advertising. It does not sell anything. Some features use in-app gems, which you earn inside the App — for example by completing lessons, daily check-ins or watching optional rewarded videos. Gems have no monetary value, are stored on your device and are lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.
With your permission, the App sends one daily study reminder and may send occasional messages through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn reminders off in the App's settings or in your device's notification settings. Home-screen widgets and the optional wallpaper feature only use data already stored on your device.
Lessons, progress, streaks, gems, practice and conversation history, tutor memory — stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy.
Audio — never recorded or stored by the App.
AI requests — not stored by our AI server; technical logs are kept by Cloudflare for a short period.
Reported AI content — up to 30 days.
Crash reports — up to 90 days.
Analytics, attribution and advertising data — kept by Firebase, Tenjin, Google AdMob, our advertising partners listed in section 4 and the advertising platforms according to their own retention settings.
When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised so that it can no longer identify you.
All connections between the App and our server use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Lesson content in the App is encrypted, and access to our server is restricted and monitored. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process information on servers outside your country, including in the United States and Singapore. Where required, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful safeguards.
Depending on where you live — including the EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), other US states, Brazil (LGPD), Japan (APPI) and South Korea (PIPA) — you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, receive a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, opt out of targeted advertising and withdraw consent at any time.
Because the App has no accounts, most of your data stays on your device under your control. For data held by us or our providers, contact us at support@speazystudio.com. We will respond within the time required by law and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — for example your national Data Protection Authority in the EEA, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom, the ANPD in Brazil, or your State Attorney General in the United States. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter.
The App does not create an account, so there is no account to delete.
Data on your device — clear the App's storage in your device settings or uninstall the App. This removes all locally stored data permanently.
Data held by us or our providers — email support@speazystudio.com with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Including your Android Advertising ID helps us find related records with our analytics and measurement providers. We complete requests within 30 days.
The App is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13, or under the age of digital consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will also let you know in the App. Continuing to use the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
