NovaFlare Studio ("we", "our", or "us") operates the mobile application Speazy: AI Language Learning (the "App"), published under the package name com.speazy.ailanguage.learning.speak.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
The App does not require an account. You do not register, log in, or provide us with an email address in order to use it. Your lessons, progress and practice history are stored on your device.
a. Voice and Audio
The App requests microphone access (RECORD_AUDIO) so that you can practise speaking. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to use a voice feature, and never in the background.
Your speech is converted into text so the App can understand what you said.
Audio recordings are not stored on our servers. They are discarded once the speech has been converted to text, are never used to identify you, and are never sold, rented or traded.
The resulting text is kept in your practice history on your device.
b. Conversation Text
When you practise with the AI tutor, the text you send is transmitted to our third-party AI provider, Google (Gemini API), which generates the response and feedback.
We do not operate a server that stores your conversations. Your practice history is saved only in local storage on your device, and is removed when you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
c. Reported Content
If you report an AI response as inappropriate, the reported message and a short portion of the surrounding conversation are sent to us so we can review it and improve our safety filters. Reported content is retained for up to 12 months and is not used for any other purpose.
d. Support Enquiries
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond to you.
e. Automatically Collected Information
Device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID (GAID) and a Firebase installation identifier
Device model, operating system version, system language and mobile network information
IP address, timestamps and network connectivity status
App usage statistics, crash reports and performance metrics
We do not ask for your name, phone number or postal address.
We use the information described above to operate the App's conversation and speaking features, generate language feedback, run in-app credits and advertising, measure advertising performance and user acquisition, review reported content, diagnose crashes and improve stability, respond to support enquiries, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
Consent — microphone access and personalized advertising. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
Performance of a contract — the data needed to deliver the App's core features.
Legitimate interests — safety review of reported content, security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, attribution measurement and product improvement.
Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by law.
These providers process information under their own privacy policies:
Google (Gemini API) — processes the text you send in order to generate AI tutor responses and feedback. https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google AdMob (Google LLC) — serves banner, interstitial and rewarded video advertising, and may use your advertising identifier. https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Tenjin, Inc. — mobile measurement, marketing attribution and ad revenue analytics. https://www.tenjin.com/privacy
Firebase (Google LLC) — Google Analytics for Firebase and Crashlytics, for usage trends and crash diagnosis. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Google Play Services and Google Play Billing (Google LLC) — platform functionality and secure purchase verification. We never receive or store your payment card details. https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising and users below the age of consent
Where a user is below the applicable digital age of consent in their country, the App serves non-personalized advertising only. We configure Google AdMob accordingly and, in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, we present a consent form through Google's User Messaging Platform before any personalized advertising is served.
You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID at any time in your device settings, under Settings → Google → Ads.
The App uses generative artificial intelligence to create conversational dialogues and language learning feedback.
AI-generated responses are intended strictly for educational and language practice purposes. They may occasionally be inaccurate and must not be relied upon as legal, immigration, medical or financial advice.
We apply automated safety filters to reduce the risk of harmful output. You can report any inappropriate AI response within the App, and we review reported content in order to improve those filters.
Text sent to our AI provider is used to generate your learning feedback. It is not used to build a profile of you or to identify you personally.
The App is free to download and is supported by advertising. Some features use in-app credits, which you can earn within the App, for example by watching rewarded advertisements, or obtain through in-app purchase. Credits earned in the App are stored on your device and are lost if you uninstall the App or clear its data.
An optional subscription is also available and is billed through Google Play. Subscriptions are linked to your Google Play account rather than to any account with us, and can be restored on a new device using Google Play's restore function. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time through the Google Play Store.
We hold as little data as possible:
Lesson progress, quiz results, streaks, in-app credits and practice history — stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy.
Audio recordings — not retained; discarded once speech has been converted to text.
Reported content — retained for up to 12 months for safety review.
Crash logs, diagnostic data and aggregated usage statistics — retained for up to 90 days.
Attribution and advertising analytics — retained by our analytics providers in accordance with their own retention policies.
When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or permanently anonymized so that it can no longer identify you.
We use SSL/TLS encryption in transit, restricted access controls and regular monitoring to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Information sent to our third-party providers may be processed on servers outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other legally recognized safeguards for such transfers.
Depending on where you live — including the EEA and UK (GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA) and Brazil (LGPD) — you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, request its deletion, obtain a portable copy, object to or restrict certain processing, opt out of targeted advertising and profiling, and withdraw consent at any time.
Because the App has no user accounts, most of your data never leaves your device and remains under your direct control. For the limited data we do hold — diagnostic logs and any content you have reported — contact us at speazy@novaflarestudio.us. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe we have mishandled your personal data, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — for example your national Data Protection Authority in the EEA, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the United Kingdom, the ANPD in Brazil, or your State Attorney General in the United States. We encourage you to contact us first so that we can resolve the matter directly.
The App does not create an account for you, so there is no account to delete.
To delete everything stored on your device — practice history, lesson progress, streaks and in-app credits — you can clear the App's storage through your Android device settings, or uninstall the App. Either action removes all locally stored data permanently and immediately.
To request deletion of the limited data we hold — diagnostic logs and any content you have reported — email speazy@novaflarestudio.us with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Including your Android Advertising ID helps us locate the relevant records. We complete these requests within 30 days.
The App is intended for general audiences aged 13 and older, and is not directed at children below that age, or below the applicable age of digital consent in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we will notify you within the App. Continued use of the App after an update means that you accept the revised policy.
