Continue to teach according to the curriculum.
Send the Letter to Parents (located below) to the parents.
Practice vocabulary and sentence structures in your lessons.
Designate one lesson to hand out the U-Star Project and:
Explain the rationale of U-Star to your class
Discuss what is expected of each student and how to record and send the assignments.
Recommend how students can challenge themselves or make their project more personal and unique for them.
Announce the due date (allow for enough time to prepare the project that coincides with the topic you are teaching in class, 3-4 weeks is suffice).
Optional-Send the U-Star Flyer (located below) to the parents via WhatsApp/E-mail or print it out.
It is recommended to publish the assignment on your school's website.
After students send their videos, reply with positive feedback in their mother tongue.
If there is an overhead projector in the classroom, and the students agree to show their projects to their peers, you may show the different projects in class. If so, it is important to discuss how to give positive feedback and to teach chunks in English that express praise, for example: "I liked ....", "You were very good at...", etc.
Do you want to use the U-Star Video Program in your school, and you're not sure how to convince your principal and your staff?
Download this letter and send it to your principal.

This is a quick and colorful reminder to parents that their child has received their first U-Star project.
It asks parents to be excited and inquisitive about the program and to be open minded and helpful in the new learning process. It also offers parents a helping hand by the English staff, if needed.
Here are examples of positive feedback that you can send to your students. Copy, paste and add their names or adjust the comments to your liking.
Positive feedback is the key to motivating students. Shower them with praise and you will see that from project to project, students will invest more time and effort in their work. Good Luck!
