Games offer a pleasant change from usual language lessons, reducing stress and anxiety and providing an atmosphere of relaxation and fun.  Friendly competition keeps English learners interested and encourages active participation as students can collaborate, communicate and engage in small groups or in pairs. 

Games can be used to improve oral production and reception (listening and speaking skills) with a focus on vocabulary, language review, fluency and pronunciation.
