My path to becoming an English language trainer is anything but traditional. Armed with a PhD in science from Cranfield University, UK, I began my career as a research scientist at SmartWater Research Limited in the UK. There, I developed innovative security technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams and business skills that would prove invaluable in my future career.
Between 2003 and 2005, as a post-doctoral research scientist at Cranfield University, I not only conducted pioneering research in nanotechnology but also discovered my passion for mentorship. Supervising PhD students, I developed a talent for communication, breaking down complex scientific concepts and supporting others in their academic journey.
In 2012, I made a significant career transition, moving to Milan and establishing myself as a freelance English language trainer. This shift was driven by my deep-seated belief in the power of communication and my ability to connect with professionals from diverse backgrounds.
Over the past decade, I've had the privilege of working with nearly 1,000 professionals across various industries. From technology giants like Oracle to financial institutions and manufacturing companies, I've helped individuals transform their English communication skills. My scientific background and international experience allow me to create uniquely tailored learning experiences that go far beyond traditional language training.
What sets my approach apart is not just language instruction, but a genuine commitment to understanding each student's unique communication needs. I've specialised in supporting professionals who may have struggled with previous English courses, particularly those who are introverted or lack confidence in their language skills.
My journey is a testament to the power of continuous learning, adaptability, and the belief that effective communication transcends mere language proficiency. It's about understanding, connecting, and growing together.
Based in Milan but working with professionals across Italy, I continue to bridge cultural and linguistic gaps, one conversation at a time.
My greatest achievement isn't measured in certificates or statistics, but in the lives transformed through our conversations. Over the past decade, I've worked with nearly 1,000 professionals, and my true pride lies in their personal and professional growth.
Success isn't about perfect grammar or flawless pronunciation. It's about:
Helping professionals gain confidence in international communications
Supporting individuals in expressing their most complex thoughts
Witnessing students breakthrough personal and linguistic barriers
Building lasting relationships that extend beyond language lessons
Some of my most cherished achievements are the lifelong friendships I've developed with students. These relationships transcend the traditional teacher-student dynamic, reflecting the depth of our conversations and mutual respect.
When a student tells me they've:
Secured an international promotion
Delivered a confident presentation
Started meaningful conversations abroad
Felt truly understood in a second language
These are the moments that define my professional journey. My students' success is my success.
"Language is not just about words. It's about understanding, connection, and human potential."
