SPMU SPE Student Chapter is a technical student organization seeking to promote ideas of global communication between petroleum engineers and work to improve educational process concerning the Oil and Gas Industry.

Student Chapters

Student chapters are located around the world and provide an operating framework for society activities at a university level. Student members elect officers annually. Each SPE chapter is sponsored by an SPE section.

To collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge concerning the exploration, development and production of oil and gas resources and related technologies for the public benefit; and to provide opportunities for professionals to enhance their technical and professional competence.

Meet Our Team

Faculty Advisor

George V. Buslaev

Associate Professor of the Department of Well Drilling, Head of the Scientific Direction at the “Arctica” Research Center, PhD in Engineering.

Up to the present, George has been an Associate Professor of the Department of Well Drilling at Saint Petersburg Mining University. He has always had a passion for the petroleum industry and received his PhD from Ukhta State Technical University. Through his hard work and determination he has published 57 works, including 6 patents and 6 SPE papers. His engagement in a variety of fields made SPE become an integral part of his life.
