How to get to Pisa

By plane:

Pisa has an international airport (PSA), very close to the city centre. From there you can get to the city centre via the so-called "People Mover" or by crossing the street to the San Giusto neighbourhood and taking a bus.

Another option is to fly to Florence (FLR) and then travel to Pisa either by direct bus from the airport or by taking the shuttle bus from the airport to Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station and then by train to Pisa (see next paragraph).

By train:

There are frequent train connections between Florence and Pisa, the travel lasting between 1h and 1h30', depending on the chosen train. If you are not familiar with the italian train system, be careful that different train services have different prices and require different tickets. Some of them (if you buy them at the railway station either from the booth or the vending machines) require to be validated before starting the ride.

By car:

Be careful that almost everywhere in the city centre parking is not free: within blue lines you have to pay.

How to get around in Pisa

Usually everything in Pisa is within walking distance. Another option is to use the local buses, but their routes can be quite counterintuitive.
