From 1940-1995, when Bishop Theodore Watts Sr. took over as lead pastor, Severna Park Church of God was a small, simple wooden church with room for about 40 members max and a Johnny on the spot outside as the bathroom. He rebuilt this church on Tithes alone, no offering at all.
In 2018, Severna Park Church of God tragically caught fire. It was a 3 year wait to get the Church back up and running. During that time, our sister church, Chesapeake Christian Center (C3), welcomed us with open arms, where we had our Church services for a year and a half. When COVID-19 was running rampant throughout the U.S., Severna Park Church of God decided to have its services on Facebook Live until the church was ready to be occupied again once it was fully recovered from the fire. Severna Park Church of God has been up and running again since 2021 with no problems. And for that, we thank the Lord.
