Winter Wishes
Each year the Haley Pilot School community supports families in need with contributions during the holiday season. An Amazon wish list was created for the roughly 80 families in need of items this holiday season. This list also includes frequently needed items (t-shirts, socks, shoes, hats, warm pants) that, with your support, we will be able to provide as needed throughout the school year.
Mr. Graham updated that everything on the list has been purchased. Thank you to all the families who contributed. Items will be organized and distributed to families by Tuesday, December 21, 2021.
Donations to fund other requests through the school year can be made directly to the Friends of the Haley by sending a check to school or making your donation through our website at haleypilotschol.org. Please identify your donation as Winter Wishes 2021 in the memo line.
Bake Sale Update
We raised $677.00!!
Big thank you to Mary Hourihan and Sherry Eskin who helped staff the bake sale table.
Big thanks to all who baked delicious goods!
This was a huge success and we should plan to do it again next year.

Record Parent Council meetings and share with community
Clarify what the parent council is and what it does: As a Haley parent, we are automatically part of the council. This is a chance for all parents to voice opinions and have some input into the functioning of the school. Everyone has a voice and this is a chance to be heard. Also, an opportunity for fundraising and for building Haley school community.
Other notes:
The Haley is preparing for the winter concert, although it is likely not to be a live performance. Details will be coming soon.
At our last meeting, parents expressed a desire for more time outside at recess. We spoke about this tonight with Ms. Sullivan, who noted that extra time is not easily built into recess time due to scheduling restraints with current lunch and recess times. She did mention, however, that teachers can and do take advantage of other opportunities for outdoor time during other parts of the school day: use of the field, playground, and outdoor classroom. She also noted that frequent movement breaks are built into classroom time in a thoughtful way.
**Remember: Wednesday, November 24 is a half day with dismissal at 12pm **
Lots of activities happening at the Haley on Wednesday, November 24:
Turkey Trot in the field area (9am) - great time to join the community to cheer on the trotters! Come out and support the school community.
Vaccine Clinic (11 to 1) will take place through the Kiss and Drop door
Outdoor Book Fair (throughout the half day) will be set up near the front door
