What is Maestro?

iDatalink Maestro is a small interface that lets a new radio or amplifier “speak the same language” as your car. In simple terms: you can add Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and better sound while keeping the factory stuff you like.

What you get (vehicle‑dependent)

Two common ways to use Maestro

1) Replace the radio (Maestro RR / RR2)

• Best when you want a new touchscreen with CarPlay/Android Auto
  
  

• Keeps factory features where supported
  
  

• On compatible radios, unlocks vehicle info screens
  
  

2) Keep your factory radio, upgrade the sound (Maestro AR / AR2)

• Best for cars with premium factory systems
  
  

• Feeds a clean signal to a compatible aftermarket amplifier/DSP
  
  

• Keeps factory chimes/cameras working while improving audio
  
  

What’s needed 

• Maestro module: RR/RR2 (radio replacement) or AR/AR2 (amp/DSP path)
  
  

• Vehicle‑specific Maestro harness: HRN‑RR / HRN‑HRR series—no wire cutting in most cases
  
  

• Compatible head unit (if replacing the radio): Models with an iDatalink/Maestro port get the most features
  Common brands: Alpine, Kenwood, JVC, Pioneer, Sony (specific models vary)
  
  

• Any brand‑specific adapter/pigtail if the harness calls for it
  
  

• Optional as needed: camera retention, USB/AUX retention, or MOST/fiber‑optic adapters on certain luxury vehicles
