My first rough draft, there's not much becausec I already knew what I would do.
The completed single link in solidworks.
The Single link sliced in Prusa
The assembly of two of the same link
The 2 link assembly after being sliced in Prusa
The gif of the five link assembly in solidworks, as you can see I halved the height between creating the two and five chain segments, and moved the hole back for more stability.
The edited five link roller chain after slicing
The first chain link without modifications, as you can see I needed to move that hole back for stability and the link was really wide. These issues were fixed in the second iteration of the two chain link.
The second iteration of the two link chain. It is able to move freely up to 180 degrees and is much thinner. The hole is also much thicker along the side so shouldn't snap as easily. It also slides left and right to allow for slight bending of the chain in those directions.
The final resulting chain with all five links. As you can see it has good motion and is sturdy, so I will use this design again.
