What is Sparr Heights Connect and Prepare?
Sparr Heights Connect And Prepare is a disaster preparedness and neighborhood safety volunteer effort among your neighbors. Its mission is to establish and strengthen community emergency preparedness by building better neightborhood connections, allowing us to efficiently respond to a potential catastrophic event or other neighborhood emergency.
Sparr Heights Connect and Prepare was started in 2019 by your neighbors:

Several neighborhoods in Glendale are very well organized. Sparr Heights -- not so much, yet. There are Neighborhood Associations throughout Glendale that include Boards of Directors and some even have dues. There is even a Glendale Homeowners Coordinating Council - representing these organized neighborhoods. We are trying to organize Sparr Heights by taking the best elements of Neighborhood Watch and adding disaster preparedness to the cause. We are trying to make sure all Sparr Heights neighbors are informed, connected and prepared for any emergency.

Is this affiliated with Sparr Heights CERT?
The Sparr Heights Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a locally implemented initiative that teaches our neighbors how to better prepare themselves for hazards that may affect our community. The Sparr Heights CERT operates under the Glendale Fire Department CERT, which regularly runs free hybrid disaster preparedness training courses covering basic disaster response skills, home utilities shut-off, and fire suppression. This is a separate, but related volunteer group with tactical disaster preparedness skills and trainings to offer. Learn more at www.sparrheightscap.com.
