Sparklebomb is a roughly two-year-old cat with quite a backstory. She likes to snuggle against you, chase her wand toys and run through her cat tunnel. She'll rub against your ankles and snooze on your lap after dinner. Hangs around with her belly up all the time, which is both charming and hilarious. She's a constant source of entertainment for us humans. Really, I've never laughed so much at (with?) a cat as this one.
She would like to be your one and only indoor cat in a home with adults or with a family with kids who understand cat boundaries (she has been fine with kids who are gentle and respectful). She was abandoned in our neighborhood and the local foster network learned she doesn't like other cats.
She's been spayed, has her vaccines, is microchipped and is set up with Blue Cross Animal Clinic. She'd be a great fit for someone who would like a smart and sassy cat that loves to play.
Her hobbies include watching the trash trucks and making sure her people don't accidentally go down the shower drain.

A trial adoption is fine. If she doesn't work out, you can bring her back to us.
Ever wonder if you could know just what you're getting into by bringing a new house panther into your home? You're in luck! I have test-driven this cat and can tell you what to expect.
White cat with puddles of brown tabby. Glorious green eyes. Round face. Sweet little meows. Walks like a cowboy. Perfect. No notes.
Hot tip: Cat comes spayed and with first-year vaccines. Thank Street Cat Hub for their good work, even though Sparklebomb was mistakenly classified as feral for a hot minute -- hence the clipped ear.
Absolute playtime champion. Leaping athleticism. Will self-play with balls and catnip mouse when feeling the zoomies. Enjoys boxes. Favorite toys are the feather wand and sparkle wand. Totally bonkers. Will “catch” them and carry them around the house.
Hot tips: Hide away wand and string toys when not in use. Give treats or kibble at the end of the play session so she has a satisfying conclusion to her hero’s journey. Will play a lot, so go for it.
Good cat. Studious in her litter box habits.
Hot tip: Prefers clumping clay litter in a high-side box. We've been using the Costco litter.
No, just no. Sparklebomb isn’t into it. Don’t even try. We're not sure about dogs, but she doesn't seem thrilled about the neighbor's big, snuffly dog we take for walks sometimes.
A life on the streets meant Sparklebomb had a few food hangups when she first got to us, but she's been great ever since she settled in.
Hot tips: We use an automated feeder (included) to dispense small treats of kibble during the day. She gets Fancy Feast in the morning and at night.
This cat has nice bed manners. She’ll tuck in beside your legs. She has tiny snores on occasion.
Hot tips: A nice playtime romp (feather wand!) and small meal right before bed is perfect. She may do some pre-snooze zoomies after playtime, but then she’ll be ready to sleep all night long.
Sparklebomb was a goofy girl when she first showed up, but she's been on an impressive growth streak ever since.
She can be a little sassy on occasion, kind of like a human toddler. Sometimes, she'll come and ask for playtime by reaching out for my hand. Her pettability has gone way up and she's into face rubs and lap time.
Hot tips: Playing is a great way to burn off her extra energy. She's super lovey right at feeding time and loves to nap in your lap after she eats dinner. We're very impressed with how far she comes and how much fun she is to be around.
Has a nice scratching post and uses it. Enjoys her double-wide cardboard scratcher. She's very into sisal scratching posts. She's been very good about our furniture.
What a bargain. You provide food, love and patience and she provides endless entertainment and hilarious belly-up photos for your Instagram account. Her current foster will include an automated feeder, toys, scratchers, a cat tree, puzzle feeder, cat tunnel, litter box and a starter supply of food. Deal of the century, my friends.
(Please note, we're working with a local foster group that typically charges a $50 adoption fee.)
We've pieced together a pretty good idea of what Sparklebomb has been through. Thanks to the neighbors and foster heroes who filled us in. She originally came to the area with a family that moved into an apartment complex. Those people ended up locking her out and not feeding her. A foster hero took her in for a bit, but Sparklebomb's distaste for other cats meant that didn't work out. Another foster family tried her out, but had a kid who wouldn't leave her alone, so that didn't work out, either.
Next chapter: Sparklebomb ended up at the West Side shelter where she got the temporary name "Princess Bubble." Her stress levels there along with her cat aversion led the shelter to think she was feral, so she was dished off to Street Cat Hub. By this point, she was very pregnant and had an abort-spay before being released in her old neighborhood.
Along the line, she started sleeping nights at yet another neighbor's house, but his housemate is extremely allergic to cats, so she couldn't stay there, either. She ended up stealing chicken feed from another neighbor.
Next, she waltzed into my house and fell asleep on my lap while I worked. She was freshly spayed, tattooed and ear-clipped. I took her to the East Side shelter after posting to NextDoor and PawBoost. East Side took her as an unregistered intake and named her "Spoiler." Through NextDoor, I learned her foster history and backstory. I thought the shelter would hook this cutie up with a home, but her high stress levels in the shelter environment and "feral" ear clip led them to just load her up and drop her back on the street where she came from. Imagine my surprise when she came waltzing into my house a second time.
So now here we are! Sparklebomb is a cutie-patootie with a struggle-bus start in life. She deserves a steady home with a person or family to help her continue to blossom. She's charismatic and smart and is already showing us how great a cat she can be. She's fun and funny and lap-loving and a little sassy, and has had a constant upward trajectory. Please consider becoming her long-term person!
