The field was attacked by a passel of pigs, or a a singular of boars. (Don't look at me, go google it.) The pigs tore up the field in search of food. The runway defined by the "felt" was untouched as the pigs couldn't pull it up to get under it.

Our President has been working with the county and friends of members to get the field repaired. Give him a hearty "thank you" when you see him. The proximity of your webmaster to the day time location of the President means I've heard of the "fun" he's been going through.

The county said it couldn't do anything until the felt was removed. One Saturday, a Bobcat and operator were hired to smooth out the large lumps and scrape the cochina off the felt so that it could be pulled up.

The current effort is to get the field prepared for seeding. The seed to (hopefully) be provided by the county. One day of heavy equipment has the torn up turf removed or chopped up. Another day will smooth it out and make it ready for seed.
