Research
We develop multifunctional composite structures for space systems. Our research connects design–fabrication–testing to create system-relevant demonstrators that withstand harsh space environments and integrate functional capabilities.
We develop multifunctional composite structures for space systems. Our research connects design–fabrication–testing to create system-relevant demonstrators that withstand harsh space environments and integrate functional capabilities.
We develop lightweight composite materials and structures that can survive harsh space environments, including hypervelocity impact, cosmic radiation, atomic oxygen erosion, thermal cycling, and outgassing.
We design and fabricate origami-inspired composite structures that remain compact during launch and deploy into functional space structures after operation.
We develop multifunctional structural batteries that simultaneously carry mechanical loads and store electrical energy. Our work focuses on CFRP current collectors, interfacial stability, electrolyte protection, and electrochemical–mechanical coupling.
We apply advanced composite design and manufacturing strategies to high-performance aerospace and mobility structures requiring lightweight, stiffness, durability, and damage tolerance.
