I am Dr. SOWJANYA MOTANA, presently I am working as an Assistant Professor and Principal, Kattupalli Yohan College of Education, in India. I earned my Ph.D. (February 2017) from the Center of Nano Technology, IIT Roorkee, India. The title of my Ph.D. thesis is “Optical Properties of ZnO Nanostructured Thin Films: Experiments and Simulation Studies”. I am a UGC-NET and GATE-qualified candidate in the year 2011. I also earned an M.Ed qualification in education. Previously, I had worked as a lecturer for five years at Repalle Christian College of Education and Repalle Christian Degree College, Repalle, Guntur (Dist.) Andhra Pradesh, in India.
My research interests include (i) fabrication of nano–thin films and nano–coatings using sputtering deposition, characterization, and applications. (ii) Molecular Modeling: First principle calculations of Graphene, Graphane, Graphyne, and rare earth elements using Material Studio, ATK, and Gaussian 09 packages.
During my Ph.D. work at IIT Roorkee and Guwahati, I successfully utilized my research skills and maintained the laboratory well. I have published 13 scientific research articles to date in reputed SCI journals and 3 articles are under review. I have also been participating and presenting my research work in several national and international conferences (07) in India. I have consolidated experience of five-plus years in teaching. I have also attended several QIP programs/workshops/Summer schools in India.
I am quite practiced in operating analytical instruments such as XRD, AFM, SEM/FE-SEM UV–Vis etc. Having brought all these points to your notice, I strongly believe that I can contribute to the research/teaching in any organization while learning.
