Sovran Studios ("we," "us," or "our") operates the PreFish Guide mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
Location Data The App requests access to your device's location solely to automatically detect local weather conditions for fishing recommendations. Location data is sent directly to the Open-Meteo weather service (open-meteo.com) to retrieve weather information for your area. We do not store, log, or retain your location data on our servers.
Usage Data We do not collect personal information, create user accounts, or track individual usage behavior. The App does not require you to register or provide any personal information to use its features.
Third Party Services
The App uses the following third party services:
Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — Free weather API used to retrieve local weather conditions. No personal data is shared beyond your GPS coordinates for weather lookup. Open-Meteo's privacy policy is available at open-meteo.com.
Anthropic API — Used to power fishing recommendations. Condition inputs you enter (water temperature, wind speed, etc.) are sent to our recommendation engine. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
Data Storage
PreFish Guide does not maintain user accounts and does not store any personal data on our servers. Fishing condition inputs are processed in real time to generate recommendations and are not retained after your session ends.
Location Permissions
The App requests location permission only when you choose to use the "Auto-Fill Weather" feature. You may deny location permission and manually enter all conditions without any loss of core functionality. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.
Children's Privacy
Our App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
