Your equid will be treated as the individual they are. Quietly and calmly an external examination primarily of the head, will not only provide an opportunity for introduction, but will highlight areas for further investigation. This will be followed by a thorough oral examination using a specialist headlight, intraoral light, dental probes, mirror and/or oroscope. All of this will be undertaken using a full mouth speculum, which is the safest way to ensure examination of all of the soft and hard tissues.
We have the instrumentation to accommodate all sizes of patient, from mini to mammoth!
It is always our primary preference to work with your equid alone. This doesn't mean that you are not welcome to watch, but it's easier and much safer for us to hold your horse by ourselves, and to be able to move around if required.
Treatment will include the careful, well-controlled, and precise application of contemporary instruments (motorised and manual where appropriate) to address sharp points and perform equilibration. You will have the opportunity to look and feel your equid's mouth and teeth. We carry our own equine dental digital oroscope, so that we can take videos and stills of any area of the mouth in order to monitor progress, or to gain advice, or refer to your veterinarian. Any areas requiring referral or further investigation will be discussed with you and a collaborative plan made to ensure that your equid gets the care they deserve.
We operate a simple pricing strategy; One flat rate. No work, no fee. No inflated prices for advanced work or insurance claims. We only have one standard of care; the absolute best you and your equid can expect. We have excellent referral links to some of the most renowned specialists in the world.
