Meet Dr. Dirt and Lauren

Hey everyone! I am Dr. Michael Schmitt, also known as Dr. Dirt. I have lived in Minnesota a long time and I am a scientist/professor at the University of Minnesota where I study soils and crops. It is a pleasure to be involved with the South Minneapolis Day Camp: Soil & Spirit. Along with my daughter Lauren, we made some videos that we hope you can learn how science and the bible can go together with your Day Camp.

Hi campers! My name is Dr. Lauren Schmitt. I grew up in Minnesota, but now I live in Washington DC and work as a scientist at the University of Maryland where I study trees, forests and soil. I’m excited to be a part of the South Minneapolis Day Camp: Soil & Spirit. My dad, Dr. Dirt, and I have made a video for each day of the week and shared some of our favorite videos that other scientists have made. We hope you enjoy!
