Welcome Volunteers!

The North Carolina Coastal Reserve & National Estuarine Research Reserve (NCNERR) protects and manages a network of ten protected sites along the coast of North Carolina.

Our mission is to provide protected sites for research, education, and stewardship to gain a better understanding and make informed management decisions for coastal ecosystems. We welcome all members of the public who are interested in helping support the work of the NC Coastal Reserve to be a volunteer! Volunteer activities in the past include: marine debris clean ups, sea turtle monitoring, shorebird nesting enclosure work days, and community science projects, like the Terrapin Tally.

Your volunteer hours serve as match to help secure additional funding for programs and temporary positions, so we appreciate your time and interest in working with the NC Coastal Reserve as a volunteer!
