March 23, 2023 - Second Annual Spartan Day
Why Spartan Day?
Mayor Linda Gorton declared it *our* day at Southern Middle last year. We had an exceptional day yesterday!
Thank you Jonathan Hawks of Tates Creek Football - Lexington, KY for speaking to our students. We appreciated you sharing your story and your support of students.
The PTSA board thanks all our families and community partners for their donations and sponsorship:

Lexington Healing Arts Academy
Main Event provided 1 hour game cards for every student! Thank you Caroline Dollar! Main Event Lexington will be opening March 31st in Southpark on Nicholasville Rd.
And students finished the day with candy deliveries in class and Kona Ice for every student, thanks to the PTSA.
Thank you Twitch from HOT 102 who entertained the students from the radio truck during Kona Ice in the afternoon.
Names of teachers and students were drawn at random throughout the day for gift cards and prizes. Thank you to Lexington Healing Arts Academy for your support!
On March 23, 2022 , Mayor Linda Gorton came to Southern Middle School to declare "Spartan Day" in Lexington. We celebrated our kids all day long! Thank you to Kochis Orthodontics for supplying our students with tshirts to celebrate the day.
