Club Overview

Introduction

  • The Southern RC Flyers is a 'not for profit' club located near Kingsville, Ontario. Our club welcomes aviation enthusiasts of all ages.
  • Membership is open to anyone interested in flying RC Model Aircraft.
  • Southern RC Flyers is a member club of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada (MAAC).

Flight Instruction

  • We have several qualified instructors for both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
  • Instruction is available for free to all student pilots.
  • Instruction is geared to the individual while following the MAAC 'WINGS' program.
  • Earning your "Wings" shows that you have participated in a club training program and earned competent pilot status. With approval by the host club this will allow you to participate in events and to fly at different MAAC chartered clubs you may choose to visit.

Normal Flight Operations

  • Our field is available to club members 7 days a week. Weekdays from 9 am to dusk, week-ends 10 am to dusk.
  • Wednesday nights and weekends are popular times for our club and are usually well attended.
  • If you want to check-out what this hobby is about and would like to talk to some of our members that is a good night to come out. See the map below for directions to our field.

Winter Months

  • During the winter months we meet on a monthly basis. See the 'Events' page for upcoming meetings. These meetings are held to conduct the routine business of the club, but are open to anyone interested in our hobby.
