And By-Laws
Plants & Decorations:- Plants can be on the north and/or south side of headstones, and no more than 12 inches on the east side.
- No plants, flowers or decorations on the west side of headstone.
- No landscaping stones.
- All winter decorations will be removed April 1st.
- Please do not infringe on others.
- Special Rules for Cremation Garden:
- Flowers will only be allowed in a vase attached to the headstone.
- No statues, metal stands or shepherd's hooks will be allowed - ANYTHING EXCEPT FOR MILITARY OR CROSSES STUCK IN THE GROUND WILL BE REMOVED.
- Flowers in attached vase on Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day and Christmas.
- Christmas decorations may be a 2-foot square blanket or wreath laying on the ground (not on a stand) - to be removed April 1st.
By-Laws pertaining to the caring of gravesites adopted October 3, 2024:- All lots shall be held according to the conditions mentioned in the certificate of burial and shall not be used for any other purpose than as a place for the burial of the dead. No pets/pet remains or ashes will be allowed in this cemetery. Scattering of cremains over a family lot or anywhere in the cemetery is prohibited.
- All interments in lots shall be restricted to the members of the family and heirs of the owner there-of, unless special permission to the contrary be obtained from the Board of Directors.
- The owner or administrator of each lot shall have the right to cultivate plants in th same, but no tree or shrub growing within any lot or alley adjacent shall be cut down or destroyed without the consent or direction of the Board of Directors.
- If any tree or shrub situated on any lot or alley shall by means of its roots or branches be unsightly or inconvenient to the adjacent lots or alleys, the Board of Directors shall reserve the right to enter upon such lot or lots and remove or cause to be removed said tree or shrub o rsuch parts there-of as are or may be detrimental or unsightly or inconvenient. The Board of Directors reserve the right to remove or cause to be removed any monument, effigy or inscription that is offensive, improper or injurious to the appearance of the surrounding lots or grounds.
- Lot owners should bear in mind the fact that Cemetery Lots are personal property, not real-estate, and administrators and others in charge of estates should include lots in their schedules of personal property in order that competent persons may be given legal authority to order burials therein. In case a dispute should arise in regard to ownership of lot or lots or in regard to burial therein, the Board of Directors reserve the right to make final settlement.
- Orders given by the undertaker having charge of the burial of any person shall be construed by the Board of Directors as the orders of the lot owner and after the interment no change will be made except at the expense of the owner.
- No lot or part of lot shall be enclosed by a fence, railing, coping-hedge, embankment ditch, posts or chains, or decorative stones, unless written permission first be obtained from the Board of Directors.
- With the assistance of the lot owners, the Society will endeavor to keep the grounds in the best possible condition. Lot owners or persons placing plants or flowers on graves shall place them on the grave side next to the marker or on the end of the marker to assist the Sexton or caretaker and aides for easier access in mowing.
- The Annual Meeting of the Society shall be held at the Cemetery on the 2nd Monday of May.
- Lot owners, administrators of estates or persons paying assessments on lots shall have the right to vote an Annual or special meetings.
- Burial Rights to Cemetery Lots no longer needed may be donated back to the Cemetery
- Burial Rights allow two cremations per lot or one cremation plus one casket per lot. Cremations only will be allowed on the burial sites in sections A, B and C.
- Persons entering the cemetery will be held responsible for any damages done to the cemetery property, monuments, markers, or graves whether intentional or otherwise. The removal of flowers, urns or any othe cemetery property will be considered a misdemeanor and be so treated.
- Use of beer or other intoxicating beverages is not permitted within the cemetery gronds. Profanity or boisterous language which disturbs the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the cemetery is prohibited.
- Doge or other animals either loose or on a leash are not permitted in the cemetery.
- Chairs, settees or benches at grave sites are prohibited except during the burial service.
- The possession of firearms within the cemetery gronds is prohibited except that of military or other organizations for the purpose of firing a salute over the grave at the burial of a member.
