At IIT Hyderabad, the Department of Liberal Arts is an essential part of engineering and science teaching and research. The classroom extends to varied spaces through fieldwork, art history, clinic and hospital visits, dance and classical music. The Department of Liberal Arts at IITH is the first of its kind. Moving beyond the disciplinary and institutional boundaries of traditional Humanities and Social Sciences Departments at other IITs, this Department engages with different forms of pedagogical tools. Conversations with creative and performing arts through specialized courses forms an essential bulwark of our academic environment.
Centre for Innovations in Public System (CIPS) at the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) was established to create a climate for accelerating and diffusing innovations in public systems through sharing of experiences across States and to facilitate the establishment of institutional and human capacities for innovation through knowledge sharing and mobilisation of practical help. The Centre is governed through an advisory council, with representation from all states. A Steering Committee will assist states to transform creative ideas into sustainable practices.
