Huge congratulations to Sarah McLaughlin and Emma Kalantsis, recipients of this year’s SAPTO Community Service Awards! We’re so proud to recognize your dedication to our school community—including your yearly volunteer efforts at PreK–2nd Fun Day (alongside fellow spin art queen and PTO legend Cara Daniell).
Wishing you—and all of tonight’s honorees—the very best on the exciting journey ahead!

▶️ Who doesn’t love a good weather plot twist? (Us! But we roll with it.) 🌧️☀️
As we head into a heat wave, we’re throwing it back to PreK–2nd Fun Day—when rain moved some activities into the gym, and spin art started outside, pivoted inside, then made its way back out. ☺️
Huge thanks to our ride-or-die PTO crew, SAES admin team, and all the student volunteers who helped make the day a blast. From bounce house giggles and bubble-blowing smiles to a little ice cream and a lot of chalk, it was a day full of fun—rain or shine! 🍦

At our final meeting of the year, we were proud to celebrate our outgoing president, Judy Pitsios. Judy has been an active part of SAPTO for nearly ten years, including more than four as our president—leading with dedication, creativity, and heart. During her tenure, she brought structure, transparency, and vision to the organization, rebuilding systems from the ground up and setting new standards for how things get done. She’s helped strengthen the connection between our families and schools—from spearheading large-scale initiatives to routinely wrangling snacks and hauling cases of water (her #1 favorite thing to do).
We surprised Judy with balloons and lots of flowers, along with a spread that included plenty of Starbursts. Even more meaningful: the heartfelt words of thanks shared by so many at the meeting’s end.
We are grateful to Judy for all she has done, and wish her the very best as she wraps up her term and heads into her next chapter.
