Commissioner of Police

The Commissioner of Police is the highest role within the SAPOL/South Australian Police.

This role comes with a lot of dedication, knowledge and leadership skills. The Commissioner has to manage the whole entire Police Force with help from their Leadership board.

Deputy Commissioner

The Deputy Commissioner is one of the highest roles within the SAPOL. This role has to assist the Commissioner with they're every day duties as well with managing a specific Policing Area. Once again, this role takes a lot of dedication and trust.

Assistant Commissioner

The Assistant Commissioner rank just comes after the Deputy Commissioner. The Assistant Commissioner is in place to oversee policing operations and specific policing areas.

Supervisors

Chief Superintendent

The Chief Superintendent is the highest rank within the Supervisory Board. The Chief Superintendent rank will usually oversee a Police Area Command. They may also lead special tasks forces or divisions.

Superintendent

The Superintendent rank comes just after the Chief Superintendent. Superintendents normally manage a specific unit within the SAPOL. Superintendents may also Lead a Police Area Command.

Chief Inspector

The Chief Inspector rank is a supervisory position. Chief Inspectors supervise ranks from Constable-Inspector. Chief Inspectors are normally Incident Command when major incidents.

Inspector

The Inspector rank is inside of the Supervisory Board. Inspectors usually overseer Constables and Sergeants completing they're duties. Inspectors may also manage a specific division within the SAPOL.

Sergeant First Class

Sergeant First Classes supervise units and other officers within the SAPOL. Sergeant First Classes take on more reasonability's as a Supervisor.

Senior Sergeant

Senior Sergeants are a very important role within the SAPOL. They manage small groups of officers and may act as an OIC for Divisions.

Sergeant

Sergeants are once again a very important role within the SAPOL. They manage other officers shifts, and reports. Sergeants supervise all Constables.

Brevet Sergeant

Brevet Sergeant's are people that are ranked Temporary and acts as a Supervisor.

Low Ranks

Leading Senior Constable

Leading Senior Constables are ranks with lots of experience within the SAPOL. Leading Senior Constables may assist in trainings for new officers and Probationary Constables.

Senior Constable First Class

Senior Constable First Classes have a lot more experience within the South Australian Police. They are usually inside of a specific unit with the Police Force.

Senior Constable

Senior Constables are one of the low ranks, but still have some type of experience within the NSWPF. Senior Constables may be in Divisions like Traffic and Highway Patrol, Dog Unit, Marine Command.

Constable First Class

Constables First Class have the same duties as a Constable, but they are in a rank that shows that they have more experience within the South Australian Police.

Constable

Constables are one of the main ranks within the SAPOL. They complete the basic duties of a police officer and normally just got out of their Probationary Phase.

Probationary Constable

Probationary Constables are new officers within the Force. They are trained and supervised by Supervisors to become a Constable. They're unable to patrol solo and must be with an Experienced Officer.
