Overview of Sidebar Functionality

This image shows the full “Sources Tracker” sidebar integrated directly into Google Slides™. The panel automatically detects all embedded sources on a slide including Google Docs™, Google Sheets™, Microsoft Excel files, Microsoft Word files, PDFs, YouTube videos, links and other file types in a structured list. Each source card includes metadata, links, discussions, and navigation controls. The sidebar also provides a slide-by-slide index on the left, allowing users to jump between slides with comments or sources. At the top, users can run a full-deck scan or generate a summary file. This view demonstrates the add-on’s core value: bringing all citations, artifacts, and discussions into a unified workspace inside Google Slides™.

Summary File Export to Google Sheets™

This image showcases the automatically generated “Summary File,” a Google Sheet™ produced by the add-on with one click. The export compiles every source link in the entire deck including URL, title, file type, slide locations, and discussion history. The output is audit-ready and captures comment threads tied to specific sources, enabling teams to track updates better, cross-check citations, and maintain traceability across large presentations.

Finding All Occurrences of a Source Across Slides

This image highlights the feature that shows every slide where a particular source is used. When the user selects a source in the sidebar, all slide numbers where that asset appears (e.g., Slides 2, 8, and 10) are highlighted in gold. The panel also shows discussion notes for that specific source. This functionality prevents inconsistencies across large decks and helps teams ensure that updates to shared data or analysis propagate to every slide that relies on the same source.

Comment Resolution Workflow

This image illustrates how the sidebar displays comment threads for each source at the slide level. Users can resolve or reopen comments directly from the side panel by clicking the ellipsis menu in the corner. Resolved threads are greyed out and crossed out and can also be hidden by unchecking the "Show resolved" toggle. This ensures that feedback tied to specific external sources is not lost or separated from the slide where it applies.

Source Reordering and File-Type Visualization

This image demonstrates the add-on’s ability to reorder detected sources and identify when a source appears multiple times on a slide. Users can reorganize sources quickly by simply dragging and dropping the source where they want it to be placed. Additionally, if a source appears multiple times on the slide, the sources card in the sidebar will indicate the number of times the source appears on the slide. This functionality enhances quality control and ensures document hygiene.
