Who is Sourav Dutta?

With an experience of over 15 years Sourav Dutta started his career in Kolkata as a special teacher for kids who failed in subjects like English and Maths in Bengali medium schools, later his fascination of photography and film making brought him to Mumbai in 2011.

Well known as one of the youngest education filmmaker in India, Sourav has also worked for television, advertising, web series and collaborated with multiple individuals and also for various digital platforms as a writer, director and assistant. 

Working on his documentary film series project on alternative education & lifestyle called Project Nomad, Sourav is also an acting & digital film making trainer. 

Throughout the pandemic, he continued to work as a mentor for an international project called 'The Bulbul' under TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute, Delhi) with the goal of empowering pan Himalayan journalists from India and neighbouring countries to be more versatile in their approach to multimedia reporting with minimal filming equipment and support.

He was working as a creative head (2020 - 2023) for a children's robotics initiative, called Witblox

Sourav is also actively involved in a number of social work organisations, either as a team member, consultant or core committee member. To name a few Nirmal Narmada, Local Threads & Trinayani NGO. 

On the other hand, Sourav is active in building curriculum and courses for many organisations on media training in writing, photography, videography and filmmaking. In a programme called Nomad Contributor Program (NCP), a handful of film enthusiasts from throughout India are currently being trained online.
