Optical testing of Programmable Logic Controller using webcam & OpenCV

The Programmable Logic Controller is a digital computer which does the functions of controlling various devices at a time. Messung Systems in Pune develop PLCs in house and testing these PLCs is a very important issue. The latest range of PLCs come equipped with array of LEDs and a LCD screen to display the vital information to the user. Testing these two using human labor is very much time consuming and tiring for the person. The system which I’m developing will eliminate the need of any human observation of LED array and LCD screen. This system right now is implemented using laptop and a webcam but can be later on implemented onto a simple embedded system. The system in process known as “Test Jig” is vital in speedy production and thus getting the testing right is also crucial.
