Last updated: 2026-10-05
This privacy policy applies to the mobile app "Cue Pad: Soundboard & Sound Cues" for Android:
- Google Play: package com.simonj.soundboard, developer "Global Utility App Maker"
The app is developed and operated by Kyu-Hee Jang (Google Play developer name: Global Utility App Maker).

OVERVIEW
Cue Pad does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You arrange sounds on pad boards, play them live, and run ordered cue lists. The app includes built-in sounds, and you can add your own by importing an audio file or recording one with the microphone. Your boards, cue lists and sounds are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services and an advertising mediation partner for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
SOUNDS AND MICROPHONE
The microphone is used only when you choose Record in the Library and then tap Continue; at that point Android asks for microphone access. If you decline, the app shows that access was not granted and everything else keeps working. Recording stops when you tap "Stop and save", and a recording in progress is cancelled and discarded if the app goes to the background. A saved recording is copied into the app's own audio folder and the original recording file is removed.
When you tap "Import audio", the system file picker opens and only the audio file you choose is given to the app. The picker places a temporary copy in the app's cache, and the app keeps its own copy in its audio folder; if saving the sound fails, the app removes its own copy. Sounds are played and recorded on your device; the app does not upload them.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
For each board the app keeps its name, grid size and pads. For each pad it keeps the label, symbol, colour, the sound it plays, playback mode, overlap and choke group, volume, fade-out and trim times. For each cue list it keeps its name, board, the cues in order with your cue notes, auto-advance and delay settings, and the time it was last finished. For each sound you add it keeps the name (the imported file name or the name you type), the location of the app's copy and its size. The app also keeps a list of IDs of deleted items so that restoring an older backup does not bring them back; this list is kept without a limit. There is no fixed limit on the number of boards, pads, cue lists or sounds.
The app may also store basic operating information such as cached advertising settings and a cached More Apps list. If saved data cannot be read, the app keeps it and offers Retry instead of overwriting it.
The developer does not run a server that receives your boards, cue lists or sounds. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not upload your boards, cue lists, notes or audio. When you open the developer's other apps in the menu, app icons are loaded from the web addresses in that list.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as app launches, a screen view when the app starts, whether a review request from the menu or the exit dialog was attempted, unavailable or failed, ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency and precision), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. These events do not include sound names, board or cue-list names, cue notes, or audio.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. A banner may appear at the bottom of the Boards list, and an ad may appear in the exit dialog. Full-screen ads may appear when the app opens or returns to the foreground, and occasionally after you save a pad or board or finish a cue list. The app does not start a full-screen ad while a board's pads are open, while a sound is playing, while you are recording, or while a cue list is running. AdMob may also request ads from the InMobi mediation network. Google and InMobi may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app has no location permission.
PERMISSIONS AND ADVERTISING CHOICES
The only feature permission the app requests is the microphone, as described above. It does not request camera, location, contacts, photos, Bluetooth, health data, or notifications. It also uses internet access and the Android advertising ID permission for the services above, and vibration for short haptic feedback when you tap pads and buttons.
When the app starts, Google's consent message (UMP) is checked first. Where it is required (for example in the EEA and UK), personalized advertising stays off unless your choice allows it, and if the consent result does not allow ad requests, the app does not request ads. If the consent message cannot be loaded, the app still requests non-personalized ads and personalized advertising stays off. Where Google requires it, the app's Settings menu shows "Privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. The app works whatever you choose.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
You can delete a pad in its pad controls (this also removes cues that use it), delete a board in the Boards list (this also removes its pads and the cue lists built on it), delete a cue list in its editor, and delete a sound you added in the Library once no pad uses it. Deleting a sound removes it from the Library and then deletes its audio file from the app's audio folder, unless another Library entry still uses the same file. If a file cannot be removed at that moment, the app tries again the next time it starts; at each start it also deletes files in its audio folder that no Library entry uses and leftover recording files that were never saved. Built-in sounds cannot be deleted. You can also clear the app's data on Android or delete the app. Local data may be included in a Google or device backup depending on your backup settings; uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup.
"Create backup" in the Library writes a set of files with your boards, pads, cue lists (including cue notes), sound names and sizes, the deleted-ID list, and the audio of every sound you added (built-in sounds are not included). These files are kept in the app's storage on your device. When the app starts, it keeps the three most recently written backup sets and deletes older ones (a set whose date cannot be read is kept), so more than three sets can exist until the next start. "Share file" sends a part through the system share sheet; where you send or save it is your choice, and the app does not delete copies kept elsewhere. "Restore backup" reads backup files you pick; the app keeps verified copies of those parts in its storage so that parts can be added in several steps, and at each start it keeps the three most recently written sets of these copies and deletes older ones in the same way. Temporary copies from the file picker may remain in the app's cache.
Because we do not receive your boards, cue lists or sounds, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google or InMobi, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Data processed by third parties is retained according to their service settings and policies. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your boards, cue lists, sounds and backup files are kept in the app's private storage on your device, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a screen lock. Apart from the limited analytics events described above, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services and the ad mediation partner uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app collects to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Only import, record and play sounds you have the right to use, and ask before recording other people. Keep the volume at a safe level for you and your audience, especially with headphones or connected speakers. Playback can be stopped by the system or by other apps, so do not rely on the app as the only cue for anything safety-critical.
CHILDREN
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
