About Soumyak

Introducing Soumyak Saha Dhrubo,

A contemporary fine art photographer and multidisciplinary visual artist from Bangladesh.

With a lifelong passion for arts and creative works, Soumyak began his journey as an artist at a very early age, motivated and inspired by his family members, friends, and teachers. As he blossomed, his curiosity and passion for diverse art forms flourished, propelling him to venture into uncharted territories of artistic exploration.

His expertise spans diverse creative realms, encompassing various genres of photography, 2D graphics & designs, and fine arts including sculptures, murals, terracotta, graffiti, and fashion designing, as well as his prowess in music encompassing Rabindrasangeet, independent compositions, and mastery of some musical instruments like the harmonium, keyboard etcetera. His vocal finesse extends to music, recitation, and presentations.

Driven by an insatiable desire for artistic exploration, his boundless aspiration is to venture into diverse art forms, pushing boundaries and diving into the world of creations.

He graduated from

The Department of Sculpture under the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka.

He completed his secondary school (SSC) in 2015 from Faridpur Zilla School and higher secondary (HSC) in 2017 from Govt. Rajendra College with a science background. Which laid a strong educational foundation that propelled his creative journey.

Work Experiences as an Artist

Throughout his artistic journey, he has engaged with various studios and farms, honing his skills and contributing to diverse creative endeavors. From 2018 to 2020, he served as a Cartoonist and Editor at Sangbaad, a cartoon web portal. Simultaneously, he explored photography and artistry at Back Art Foundation, pushing boundaries in the visual arts realm. In 2020, he co-founded the band Bunophool, where he showcased his talents as a Musician, including his role as a Vocalist and Keyboardist, until 2023. Alongside these experiences, he undertook freelance work as an Artist and Photographer at Studio Digangana, captivating audiences with his unique artistic vision. Additionally, he delved into painting as a valued Painter at Rong Kore Dei and contributed his talents as a Freelance Artist at Mi_Tishan_Mi Studio. Furthermore, he embraced the world of fashion, serving as a Content Manager at Archish and showcasing his skills as a Fashion Designer with Perks & Friends since 2021.

He has also worked on numerous individual projects and commissioned works as a freelancer.

Co-Curricular Activities

During his school and college life, he was highly active in both the Cultural team and the Debate team, leaving an indelible mark on the extracurricular landscape. His insatiable thirst for knowledge and excellence led him to participate in numerous Olympiads, Cultural Competitions, and Science Fairs, where he consistently showcased his talents and intellectual prowess. His remarkable performances earned him a multitude of awards, including several national recognitions, affirming his dedication and talent.

Alongside his academic pursuits, he actively engaged in a range of extra-curricular activities, making a lasting impact on social and cultural platforms. From 2011 to 2017, he showcased his vocal talents as a Vocal Artist in the Rabindrasangeet Sammilan Parishad. He further enriched his musical journey as a Vocal Artist in Udichi from 2013 to 2017 and at Faridpur Shilpakala Academy from 2014 to 2017. Additionally, he honed his debating skills as a Debater at Faridpur Debate Forum in 2016-2017. In the spirit of community service, he volunteered for Prothom Alo Bandhushava Faridpur from 2015 to 2016 and served as the Cultural Secretary from 2016-2017. He played a pivotal role as a Vocal Artist and Organizer in Khelaghar Faridpur from 2015 to 2017, followed by Khelaghar Central from 2017 to 2020. At Dhaka University, he actively participated as a General Member of the Dhaka University Cultural Society from 2018 to 2022 and assumed the role of Music Coordinator from 2022-2023. Additionally, he was a General Member of the Dhaka University Photographic Society in 2018-2019.
