Dr. Soumyadip Bhunia is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Institute of Chemistry at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working with Prof. Sanford Ruhman. His current research interest is the ultrafast exciton dynamics in new light-harvesting materials using femtosecond spectroscopy. He received his Ph.D. in 2021 from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER-K) under Prof. Pradipta Purkayastha. He has done his master's from Vidyasagar University with a specialization in physical chemistry and qualified CSIR-NET and GATE in chemical science. During this period, He has explored the energy and electron transfer dynamics in different luminescent metal nanoclusters, carbon nanodots, and their ultrafast light-harvesting prospects. Before Joining Hebrew University, He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Discipline of Chemistry at IIT Gandhinagar, working with Prof. Saumyakanti Khatua where he worked on the fluorescence enhancement of weakly emitting dyes using plasmonic nanoparticles using single particle spectroscopy.
