Welcome to the structural biology lab at the School of Bioscience, IIT Kharagpur, India. We use NMR spectroscopy and other biophysical techniques to study the structural and dynamic basis of protein functions. We study both folded and disordered proteins. Our publications are listed here.
More than 70% human proteins have long disordered regions. Although they lack folded structure, these protein regions play important functional roles. We study these proteins using NMR dynamics experiments. For more details, see here.
Intein enzymes are called Nature's Gift to Protein Chemists due to their immense biochemical applications. We are engineering these enzymes based on their structure and dynamics, determined from NMR spectroscopy. For more details, see here.
RNA-binding proteins are prone to form phase separated liquid droplets. We are studying the oligomerization and phase separation of the RNA-binding protein RBM3, which is a cold shock protein and has neuroprotective functions. For more details, see here.
