Quantum weak measurement and application to Material science

Weak measurement is a generalization of the idea of measurement where both the system and measuring device is quantum . A light beam with finite transverse extent exhibits subtle deviations from the prediction of geometrical optics when it undergoes a total internal reflection from a monolayered surface. We have measured the longitudinal shift(Goos-Hanchen shift) of light beam applying the weak measurement method . We observed there is no GH shift for air-glass interface when incident angle is below the critical angle .But for monolayered molybdenum disulphide surface tiny GH shift is observed even for partial reflection .
