Dr. Mondal received a B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Haldia Institute of Technology, WB, India in 2008, an M. Tech degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering (with a specialization in Wireless Communications) from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2010, and the PhD degree in Wireless Communications from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2021. Since March. 2024, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Intelligent Wireless Communication (i-Wic) research group in the Institute of Communications Engineering at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Before this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati , Assam, India. He was a recipient of the prestigious visvesvaraya phd fellowship during his PhD.
He has been a member of the TPC for various conferences including NCC 2023, NCC 2025, and ICC 2025. His main research interest lies in the broad domain of wireless communications and signal processing. In recent years, his research has been mostly focused on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), Hybrid RF/FSO network, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), next-generation multiple access techniques (including NOMA and RSMA), and massive MIMO networks.
Research Interest: massive MIMO, cognitive radio, wireless energy transfer, non-orthogonal multiple access, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces based wireless system design, and enabling wireless communication with UAVs, Free Space Optical (FSO) communication
