My work with you
About me
My name is Jordan Ling, and I am a fully qualified, and experienced counsellor. I offer counselling for aged 18 and over in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I and I work in accordance with their ethical framework to, ensuring that my practice is grounded in professionalism, integrity, and respect.
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Person-Centred Integrative Counselling, and bring over twenty years of experience in one-to-one mentoring, supervision, counselling and spiritual accompaniment. My approach is integrative. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to support your unique journey, including person-centred, psychodynamic, and transactional analysis and neuropsychology.
I am trauma-informed and experienced in working with trauma and PTSD. I am neurodiversity-aware, with extensive experience supporting clients with Autism, ADHD and AuDHD. I aim to help you make sense of your experiences and rediscover your own unique value and inner wisdom.
I welcome all aspects of your experience, including the spiritual, and believe that you are the person who best understands your own needs. Sometimes, life’s challenges can cloud our inner knowing, counselling offers a safe and compassionate space to reconnect with it.
I deeply value the individuality of each client. Whether you are seeking support for emotional wellbeing, identity, relationships, or spiritual concerns, I offer a non-judgmental and confidential space where you can be heard and understood.
Counselling is a one-to-one process where you can bring whatever feels important to explore—whether it's current challenges, past experiences, or questions about identity and purpose. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, valued, and understood.
It’s natural to feel nervous at the start, especially if counselling is new to you. I will work at your pace, safely supporting you as you begin to open up.
My approach focuses on helping you build confidence in your own voice and choices. While I offer possible insights, my role is not to be the expert, but a companion walking alongside you as you explore.
To ensure clarity and consistency, here are the standard operating procedures I follow in my counselling and supervision practice:
All sessions are confidential and adhere to BACP guidelines.
My practice is neurodiversity-affirming, LGBTQ+ inclusive, and welcoming to clients from all backgrounds.
I maintain clear professional boundaries, this includes respect for autonomy, and non-exploitation. I engage in regular clinical supervision and continuing professional development (CPD) to uphold the quality of my work.
At the heart of spiritual growth is learning to feel at home in the unique person you were created to be. The aim of the session is to accompany you as you explore any and every area of your life. The premise is believing the spiritual is in all things already and so, our endeavour is, together, to notice more where the spiritual is in your life. Spiritual accompaniment can focus on specific areas, or may be far reaching.
In our sessions, we may draw on tools such as the Enneagram and other personality profiles to support this journey. Together, we may explore a range of spiritual practices tailored to your temperament and life experience. These may include insights from Ignatian, Carmelite, Franciscan, and Benedictine and celtic traditions. Every part of your life is welcome here—because the spiritual is already present in all things. Our shared aim is to notice more of where the sacred shows up in your everyday.
This kind of companionship is sometimes called soul friendship—a supportive connection that helps us stay rooted and open throughout life. Spiritual accompaniment usually happens once every 8 weeks and can be long term
The shape of a session is similar to that of a counselling session. It lasts one hour and the focus is on listening well to what is going on for you and seeking the sacred in all things.
