SoulShelf is a mood-recording, reflection, community, and wellness application designed to help users record feelings, review mood history, use relaxation activities, and connect with other SoulShelf users.
This Privacy Policy explains what information SoulShelf processes, why it is processed, how it is protected, and the choices available to you.
By using SoulShelf, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information You Provide
Depending on the features you use, SoulShelf may process the following information:
Email address and account credentials
Display name, biography, avatar, and profile information
Mood records, worry notes, activity records, and personal reflections
Community posts, comments, replies, likes, reports, and blocked-user settings
Direct messages and conversation information
Images, audio, voice comments, and other media you choose to upload
Notification preferences
Support requests and information you voluntarily provide when contacting us
Passwords are not stored in plain text. They are processed using secure password-hashing methods.
If Sign in with Apple is available and you choose to use it, SoulShelf may receive an Apple-provided account identifier and information you authorize Apple to share.
2. Mood Records and Local Data
SoulShelf mood records, including entries created through mood activities, are stored locally on your device by default.
Records are scoped to the SoulShelf account currently signed in on that device. SoulShelf is designed to prevent one signed-in account from viewing another account’s local records.
If optional iCloud or CloudKit functionality is enabled, certain local data may be stored or synchronized using Apple services associated with your Apple Account.
Private mood records are not automatically published to the SoulShelf community. Content is shared publicly only when you separately choose to create or upload community content.
3. Account and Server-Stored Information
SoulShelf operates an account system and online services.
Information needed for account, community, messaging, purchase, membership, notification, security, and moderation features may be stored on servers operated by SoulShelf or its service providers.
This may include:
Account identifiers and profile information
Community posts, comments, replies, likes, and reports
Direct-message conversations
Uploaded community images, audio, and voice comments
Coin balances and transaction history
Membership status
Push-notification device registrations
Account-deletion and security records
4. Community Content
Content you post in public or community areas may be visible to other SoulShelf users.
This may include:
Display name and avatar
Public profile information
Posts
Comments and replies
Voice comments
Likes and other interactions
Do not post information that you do not want other users to see.
SoulShelf may review, restrict, hide, or remove content when necessary to enforce community rules, respond to reports, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
5. Direct Messages
Direct messages are stored so that conversation participants can access their conversations.
When an account is deleted, some message content may remain visible to the other conversation participant to preserve conversation continuity. The deleted account’s profile identity is removed or anonymized where appropriate.
Please do not send highly sensitive personal, financial, medical, or emergency information through SoulShelf messages.
6. Photos, Audio, Camera, and Microphone
SoulShelf may request access to the camera, photo library, or microphone only when you use a feature that requires that permission, such as:
Selecting or capturing an image
Uploading an avatar
Attaching media
Recording a voice comment
Using another audio-enabled feature
These permissions are optional unless required for the feature you choose.
Media uploaded to community or messaging features may be stored using cloud-storage services. Local mood-entry media may remain on your device or in Apple-provided storage, depending on the feature and your settings.
7. Coins and Apple In-App Purchases
SoulShelf offers virtual Coins through Apple In-App Purchase.
Apple processes payment information. SoulShelf does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
To verify purchases, prevent duplicate credits, support refunds, and maintain transaction integrity, SoulShelf may process and retain information such as:
Apple product identifier
Transaction identifier
Purchase environment
Purchase status
Amount of Coins credited
SoulShelf account associated with the purchase
Coins have no cash value and are associated with the SoulShelf account to which they were credited.
Consumed Coin purchases cannot be restored through Apple’s Restore Purchases feature. Your remaining server-stored Coin balance may be available when you sign back into the same SoulShelf account.
8. VIP and SVIP Memberships
SoulShelf offers automatically renewing VIP and SVIP subscriptions through Apple.
SoulShelf may process:
Subscription product identifier
Original transaction identifier
Renewal and expiration status
Membership tier
Revocation or refund status
Whether automatic renewal is active
Apple manages payment, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund processing.
Deleting your SoulShelf account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription. You must manage or cancel the subscription through Apple’s subscription settings.
Restore Purchases may be used to restore eligible Apple subscriptions. It does not restore consumed Coin purchases.
9. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, SoulShelf may store:
An Apple Push Notification service device token
Notification authorization status
SoulShelf notification preference
Device environment and app identifier
Delivery and failure information
Push notifications may inform you about community activity, report updates, or direct messages.
To protect privacy, SoulShelf is designed to use generic lock-screen notification wording. Private mood records, journal text, message bodies, and full community content are not intentionally placed in push-notification payloads. Private details are loaded after you open the app.
You can disable SoulShelf notifications inside the app or change system notification permissions in iPhone Settings.
10. Technical and Security Information
SoulShelf and its hosting providers may process limited technical information needed to operate and secure the service, such as:
IP address
Request date and time
App version
iOS version
Device or platform type

Security and fraud-prevention events
SoulShelf does not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking for behavioral advertising.
We do not sell personal information.

Create and maintain SoulShelf accounts
Authenticate users
Store and display profiles
Provide mood-recording and history features
Operate community and messaging features
Process Coins and membership entitlements

12. Service Providers
SoulShelf may use service providers to operate the app and online services, including:
Apple, for App Store purchases, subscriptions, iCloud, CloudKit, and push notifications
Cloud-hosting and deployment providers
Database providers
Media-storage providers
Security, logging, and infrastructure providers
These providers may process information only as needed to perform services for SoulShelf and according to their own applicable terms and privacy policies.
13. Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, process refunds, comply with law, or protect users.
Examples include:
Active account information is retained while the account exists
Community and message data may remain while needed for other participants or moderation
Apple transaction identifiers may be retained to prevent duplicate credits and support refunds
Security and moderation records may be retained when necessary
Deleted media may take a reasonable period to be removed from storage systems, deletion queues, or backups
We do not promise that all data disappears instantly from every backup or service provider.
14. Account Deletion
You can initiate permanent SoulShelf account deletion inside the app through the Profile or account settings area.
Account deletion may:
Disable future login
Remove or anonymize your email and account identifiers
Remove profile information
Remove or hide your community content
Delete private notifications and device registrations
Remove access to Coins and membership benefits
Delete account-owned local records from the current device
Queue uploaded media for deletion
Certain information may be retained when necessary for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, refund, security, moderation, or transaction-integrity purposes.
This may include Apple transaction identifiers, Coin ledger records, membership transaction records, and moderation records.
A newly created account using the same email address is treated as a separate account and does not inherit the deleted account’s records, Coins, membership, messages, or purchases.
Deleting a SoulShelf account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
15. Your Choices
You may:
Edit your profile information
Delete individual records or community content where available
Hide records
Block users
Manage notification preferences
Disable iPhone notification permission
Clear local app data
Manage Apple subscriptions
Request permanent account deletion
“Clear Local Data” affects data stored on the device.
“Delete Account” permanently deletes or anonymizes the SoulShelf service account and associated data, subject to the retention described above.
16. Security
SoulShelf uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your password, device access, and SoulShelf account.
17. Children
SoulShelf is not specifically designed for children.
Users must be legally able to agree to the applicable terms in their country or region. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.
18. International Processing
SoulShelf and its service providers may process information in countries or regions other than the one where you live.
Where applicable, information is handled according to this Privacy Policy and applicable legal requirements.
19. Wellness and Medical Disclaimer
SoulShelf is a mood-recording, reflection, relaxation, and community tool.
It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, psychotherapy, treatment, emergency monitoring, or crisis intervention.
If you believe you may be experiencing an emergency or mental-health crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
