Welcome to Swag of the South Street Dance School, where rhythm meets fun and creativity! Catering to children aged 2 1/2 years and up, our school is dedicated to fostering a love for dance in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Swag of the South (AKA SOS Kru) Street Dance School has been established for over 10 years. We are based in Southsea, Portsmouth. We pride ourselves in being a welcoming and friendly school whilst also making sure the children's safety is a top priority. All staff are fully DBS checked and trained in first aid. So you can rest assured your child is in safe hands whilst having fun!

At SOS, we believe that every child is a natural dancer. Our classes introduce young dancers to the vibrant world of street dance, encouraging them to express themselves while building confidence, coordination, and teamwork skills, as well as a chance to develop new friendships. Our experienced and enthusiastic team are passionate about guiding your child through every step of their dance journey, from basic moves to advanced techniques.

Meet the Team

 Principle/Teacher : Bonnie - Bonnie, a beloved dance teacher at SOS, has been gracing the dance floor with her presence since she was just a child. As she grew, so did her love for dance. Bonnie's journey didn't stop at performing. Her natural ability to connect with others and her enthusiasm for sharing her passion led her to teaching. With over a decade of teaching experience, Bonnie has a unique ability to inspire and motivate her students. Her classes are known for their energetic atmosphere, where every child feels encouraged to express themselves and grow. 

Teacher : Jabari - Jabari is a teacher for our older pupils classes. Jabari discovered his passion for street dance and breakdancing at the age of 4. With an innate talent and relentless dedication, he quickly mastered the art, dazzling audiences with his moves. Throughout his youth, Jabari's hard work paid off, earning him numerous trophies in competitions. Now, Jabari channels his experience and enthusiasm into teaching the next generation of dancers. As a teacher, he brings the same energy and passion to his classes, inspiring young dancers to express themselves and reach their full potential.

Admin : Rainey - Rainey is the dedicated and efficient admin at SOS. With a keen eye for detail, Rainey expertly manages invoices, registers for all classes, and supports the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring everything runs smoothly. A former NNEB nursery nurse with a lifetime of experience working with children, Rainey brings a nurturing touch to her administrative role. Her connection to the school is personal—her daughter once danced here sparking her own career in performing arts, and Rainey’s commitment to fostering a positive environment for young dancers is evident in everything she does. Rainey’s blend of professional expertise and personal passion makes her an invaluable part of the SOS family.

Admin : Becki - Becki is the dynamic and organized admin at SOS. As the driving force behind the school's competitions, Becki ensures that every contest runs flawlessly. Her children are proud dancers at the school, adding a personal touch to her dedication and enthusiasm. With her keen organizational skills and passion for dance, Becki orchestrates memorable events that highlight the talent and hard work of every student. Her commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for both dancers and their families makes her an essential and beloved member of the SOS family.
