Stripper Strut #1: Walk a Mile in my pleasers!

11th June 2019

MARCH WITH US!

The June hearing date has been set back, but we're marching anyway to fight for our right to work and to protest the despicable tactics used by 'feminists' who paid multiple men to go undercover and film women's naked bodies without their knowledge or consent in order to attempt to remove their job and ability to pay their rent/tuition/mortgages and feed their kids.

#mybodymychoice #walkamileinmypleasers #strippingfeedsfamilies

Bring your highest heels to carry along in solidarity (some of us will be carrying ours!)

Expect glitter, placards galore and plenty of tunes and good vibes!

Join us for a march from Spearmint Rhino, 60 Brown Street Sheffield to Sheffield Town Hall. We will meet provisionally at 10.30am, but that time is subject to change!

20th May 2019

We know a lot of people are curious about strip clubs, strippers and our industry, but don't often get the chance to meet and talk to strippers. Now is your chance!

For too long have strippers, our lives and our bodies been used as rhetorical tools in feminist debates: now we want to have our voices heard! We are feminist, we are strippers, and we want to answer your burning questions!

We know some people may be concerned about the impact of strip clubs. If you are opposed to the industry, or even just not sure, please do come and listen, have a chat and meet with us. We welcome all attendees! We just ask that attendees listen quietly and speak to us respectfully, and we will respond in kind. :)

Because of the stigma around our industry we ask that attendees respect the privacy of panel speakers, and that photography and video is restricted solely to the allocated times and areas.

Security staff will be in attendance.

Please get in touch if you have any accessibility requirements for this or any upcoming events!

21st May 2019

Letter writing/Placard making workshop

Want to write an email of support but not sure where to start? Attend this workshop at the University of Sheffield for hints, tips and the opportunity to read letters and testimonies from current dancers at the club. We will be offering templates, advice, and laptops to help you write and submit your letters of support to the Sheffield City Council in their upcoming license review meeting, making banners, and painting placards together to demonstrate our support for Sheffield Strippers!

Meet with likeminded people and get your craft on!

We will also be making placards and signs for our march on the day of the licensing hearing. Bring your own craft supplies: cardboard, paints, sticks, stickers, glitter, you name it! There will be some provided but the more the merrier.

Come along to our event to get crafty in support of Sheffield's Strippers!
