Soroush Marouzi
Assistant Professor of Philosophy
FIT, State University of New York
I'm a historian and philosopher of science with a special interest in economics. My research focuses on the nature and value of human rationality. I study intellectual and political projects aimed at understanding, cultivating, or institutionalizing rationality, particularly in interwar Britain. I also explore the epistemology of rationality, with particular attention to the role of habits in rational life. I currently teach courses on ethics and business ethics.
I received my PhD from the University of Toronto in 2024 and subsequently served as a Research Scholar at the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University. I joined FIT in Fall 2025.
I enjoy watching and playing soccer, listening to post-rock music, reading fiction and poetry, and dreaming of a better world with my friends at the Fly-Bottle.Â
