I am Soroth San, an international student from Cambodia pursuing a Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation (IDD&E) at Syracuse University. My academic focus lies in understanding how learning theories, such as Behavioral, Cognitive, and Social learning theories, intersect with instructional design to create meaningful learning experiences.
Learning theory provides the foundation for understanding how individuals acquire knowledge, while instructional design applies these principles to develop structured, effective learning environments. Together, they guide the creation of educational programs that promote deeper engagement and understanding.
This Fall, I am studying under Dr. Rob Pusch, who teaches IDE 621: Principles for Instruction and Learning. Dr. Pusch's course focuses on theories of learning and instruction, covering factors affecting human learning across different age groups, and how these inform instructional design.
