iShoter ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the iShoter Chrome Extension ("Extension", "Service") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.

We Do NOT Collect Personal Information

iShoter is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information, including but not limited to:

Local Data Storage

The Extension only stores data locally on your device:

• Screenshots and Images: All screenshots and saved images are stored exclusively in your browser's local IndexedDB database. This data never leaves your device.

• User Settings: Extension preferences (such as keyboard shortcuts) are stored locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API.

• Temporary Data: When saving large files, temporary data may be stored in chrome.storage.local as a fallback mechanism, but this data is also stored only on your device.

All data stored locally can be deleted at any time through the Extension's interface or by uninstalling the Extension.

How We Use Information

Local Processing Only

The Extension processes data only on your local device:

1. Screenshot Capture: When you take a screenshot, the image data is processed locally and stored in your browser's IndexedDB. No data is sent to any server.

2. Image Saving: When you save an image from a webpage:

   • The Extension may fetch the image data via the background script to bypass CORS restrictions

   • This fetch operation is performed only when you explicitly click the save button

   • The fetched image data is stored locally and never transmitted to external servers

3. No Background Processing: The Extension does not perform any background data processing, analytics, or tracking.

Network Requests

The Extension makes network requests ONLY in the following limited circumstances:

• Image Fetching: When you explicitly save an image from a webpage, the Extension's background script may fetch the image data to bypass CORS restrictions. This is done only at your request and the data is stored locally.

We do NOT:

• Send data to any external servers

• Perform background network requests

• Load third-party tracking scripts or analytics

• Share data with third parties

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All data is stored exclusively on your device using:

• IndexedDB: For storing screenshots and saved images

• chrome.storage.local: For storing user settings and temporary data

Data Security

• All data remains on your local device

• No data is transmitted over the network (except when you explicitly save an image, as described above)

• Data is stored using browser-native storage APIs with standard security measures

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We Do NOT Share Your Data

We do NOT share, sell, rent, or disclose your data to:

• Third-party services

• Advertising networks

• Analytics providers

• Data brokers

• Any other external parties

User Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Access Your Data: All your screenshots and saved images are accessible through the Extension's popup interface

• Delete Your Data: Delete individual items or clear all data by uninstalling the Extension

• Export Your Data: You can download any screenshot or saved image to your local device

Permissions Explained

The Extension requires the following permissions:

• <all_urls>: To provide screenshot and image saving functionality on any website

• activeTab: Captures visible area of the current tab when you trigger a screenshot

• storage: Stores your settings and screenshot data locally on your device

• tabs: Controls page scrolling for full-page screenshots

• downloads: Allows you to download saved screenshots to your device

• notifications: Shows error notifications when save operations fail

All permissions are used only when you actively use the Extension's features.

Third-Party Services

The Extension does NOT use or integrate with any third-party services, including analytics, advertising, or cloud storage services.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
