About Head

Dance Coach

Alexandria Taylor is a proud member of the Chapel Hill and Southwest DeKalb communities. She started her career at the tender age of three when she attended her first dance class. It has always been a monumental part of her life ever since. In the summer of 1995, she was accepted to join the Atlanta Jr. Hawks dance team at the age of eight where she mastered the art of dance and performing.

In middle school, she never did dance, but she was on the cheerleading squad and track and field team at Chapel Hill Middle School as well as at Southwest DeKalb High School. In May of 2005, she became a member of the Dancing Divas at Southwest Dekalb High School. Soon after she graduated, she attended Albany State University to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. As a freshman on campus, she became a Ram Cheerleader. Although she loved to cheer, she was still missing her passion for dance. In the Fall of 2007, she became a Golden Passionette Dancer at Albany State University. Once she completed her sophomore year of college she decided to head back home and transfer to Clark Atlanta University where she received her degree in Fashion Design & Merchandising.

The love for dance never left her side and in 2013 she tried out for the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders. She became a finalist but unfortunately did not make the team. However, it was one of her best memories as a professional dancer. Being a dancer was still her passionate therefore she decided to take her talents to Georgia Stars Academy of Dance & More and became a dance teacher. She taught hip-hop, jazz, and majorette dances. It is a privilege and honor for her to return as the Head Coach of the Sophisticated Ladies Dance Team at Chapel Hill Middle School.
