The tools we used to implement our updates were HTML/CSS, Js/Bootstrap, and small amounts of Python. This was the architecture of the original tool, so everything we added had to use the same languages/tools.
The re-designs and additions we implemented in this way include:
Extra feedback pages:
How your most recent conversation with SOPHIE compares to previous ones
Resources to help the user improve their speech and learn ways to communicate with users empathetically
Sentiment Difference: an average measure of user's sentiment trajectory from the ideal, gives them an idea of if their mood is too positive/negative, and at what points.
Simplified graphics: the speedometer charts are replaced with more simplified reports to the user
The turn-taking and transcript features are now color-coded to highlight when a user is asking questions, lecturing, or both:
Red - lecturing
Blue - questioning
Pink - both
