Sophie LJ Morris

Sophie LJ Morris was born in the UK. She previously lived and worked in London but has recently moved back to her home town in Nottinghamshire. She is largely self-taught, developing her practice through courses at The St Ives School of Painting and Newlyn School of Art.

The inspiration for her painting comes from the movement, power and emotion found in the landscape, especially by the coast. In her work, Sophie aims to capture the feeling of a place. To remember the landscape at one particular moment in time.

Her work is part of private collections in the UK and across Europe.
