Sophie has a breadth of performance experience. She has served as principal viola for the University of Victoria Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Victoria. She plays with the Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra and has participated in a number of community orchestral concerts in the Pacific Northwest.
From 2023-2025, Sophie was the violist in the award-winning cello quintet "Controlled Demolition." She has participated in many chamber music festivals and has been mentored by the Lafayette String Quartet, Viano Quartet, and more.
Sophie loves Baroque music and has dedicated years to learning Historically Informed Performance Practice, playing the Telemann Viola Concerto with the Collegium ensemble at UVic, and attending the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute in Toronto.
Sophie has also played in several non-classical environments. Such as playing in the pit orchestras for the Canadian College of the Performing Arts, and playing on studio albums.

Sophie is a passionate teacher in Victoria, BC. She enjoys helping her students reach their full potential. She worked as a Teaching Assistant with the Seattle Girls Choir and is currently a Teaching Assistant with Harmony Project in Sooke. Sophie currently has 1 student. Sophie has been a leader in the Greater Victoria Area. While in University, she was on the Music Student Association as the Social Media Coordinator, and the President.
She has also served as the Student Director on the Board of Directorrs for Early Music Society of the Islands.
Sophie loves making a contribution to her community.
